Leigh Parkin (Him/He) | CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
The decision to begin psychological therapy can sometimes feel confusing or daunting, so Leigh places great importance on creating a safe and relaxed environment where individuals can explore their experiences and make meaningful choices toward growth and change.
Leigh has been practising as a psychologist since 1997 and brings extensive experience from his work across community, educational, government, and private settings. He supports clients with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety disorders (such as panic attacks, social or health anxiety, and generalised anxiety), depression, obsessive–compulsive disorder, bipolar and related conditions, trauma, relationship and family-of-origin difficulties, stress, low mood, and adjustment to significant life events. He also has a particular interest in the impacts of family and domestic violence and in promoting non-violence within the community.
Leigh values building strong, collaborative relationships with his clients and takes a flexible approach that respects each person’s unique circumstances. He draws upon a range of evidence-based modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy (ST), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness-based strategies.
