Wenjin Zhang (She/Her) | ACCREDITED MENTAL HEALTH SOCIAL WORKER

Wenjin Zhang is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with specialised expertise in supporting children, adolescents, and families. She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Melbourne, with additional specialisation in developmental psychiatry, and is trained in family therapy and parenting support. Wenjin is also a certified trainer for the Tuning into Kids and Bring Up Great Kids parenting programs.

Wenjin works with individuals aged 0–25, addressing a wide range of psychological challenges, including depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), eating disorders, anger management, behavioural issues such as oppositional defiant behaviour, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, social and peer relationship difficulties, self-esteem, adjustment disorders, cultural identity struggles, gender dysphoria, complex parent-child relationship difficulties, attachment issues, and family conflict management.

Her therapeutic approach is compassionate, client-centred, and tailored to each individual’s needs. Wenjin draws on evidence-based strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques. She is also skilled in family therapy models, including Structural, Strategic, and Communication Family Therapy, focusing on resolving complex parent-child dynamics and enhancing family connections.

In addition to her clinical work, Wenjin supervises and trains Master’s-level students and mental health professionals through the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accreditation process. She values cultural inclusivity and strives to create a safe and supportive space for clients from diverse backgrounds to achieve meaningful change and long-term wellbeing.
